Welcome, welcome one and all to my little slice of the internet! I’m glad you stopped by… Let me introduce myself.
I am Laura Muir, cooking fanatic, party enthusiast, avid art lover, serial hobbyist, joy seeker, sing and dance in the kitchen-ista and most importantly a mother and wife!
My Journey into blogging all started with a desire to create a happy life filled with great food, family time and the exploration of all lovely things. I wanted to share that goodness with my friends and family, and now the world! I hope you leave this site feeling uplifted, inspired and ready to conquer the day.
I was raised by many incredible mother figures in my life who instilled in me a great love for cooking and entertaining. I feel so blessed by this heritage. These women, (my grandmothers, mother and aunts) inspire me on a daily basis to be a better, stronger and happier woman. I love them each deeply. Ever since I was a child I loved to bake and cook! I made such fun memories in the kitchen whipping up batches of cookies to sell to the neighbors, or “creating my own recipes” (whether they turned out well or not)! I watched my mom take baked goods to friends and family to cheer them up. Food is just plain good for the soul…
My husband Mike Muir and I have been married for more than 11 years now, and have a darling daughter, son and a newborn baby boy to show for it! There is nothing more important to me in this world than family. My kids and I have become quite the dynamic cooking team (messy and fun all in one)! The Muir family business just so happens to be the Intermountain West’s Premier Produce And Specialty Foods Distributor, operating as Muir Copper Canyon Farms and Muir Gourmet. This close connection with such fresh produce and quality gourmet food products has sparked an even greater excitement for cooking and recipe creation in my life!
I first started designing recipes (professionally) for Muir Fresh Harvest. This was a local Utah food co-op Mike and I started and ran for two years. It was so thrilling to provide the freshest possible produce to the people in our community! I created two recipes a week for our bi-weekly produce bundles which coincided with the contents to help customers cook delicious meals. A while back I decided to re-focus my attention to family and recipe creation and closed Muir Fresh Harvest. I am now spending my time creating professional quality recipes and food writing for companies who want to engage with their customers and offer an authentic and fresh experience through food. I also spend time creating recipes for Fresh & Happy. I love throwing parties and playing with home decor and crafts. If it is fun, and beautiful I am all over it!
I can’t even express how happy I am to be able to stay at home and raise my sweet children while pursuing my passions. Life is good.
One of my goals is to help my readers gain more confidence in their own kitchens, cooking up healthy and flavorful food! Join in on the fun, and get a little friendlier with the produce in your life…
So, now that we’re acquainted, take a look around and shoot me a comment (since we’re friends and all).
