Guess what week it is here at Fresh & Happy? Its Carnival Party Week!!! I have been working hard to share with you some super fun Carnival Party inspiration and ideas. Last weekend we threw the biggest, baddest, Carnival Birthday Party ever! We wanted to celebrate my sweet daughter’s 7th birthday outside in our backyard (since she wanted to invite the entire world)! She isn’t one to leave anyone out. I think we ended up hosting about 80 people. It was so much fun! We were lucky to have a nice sunny 80 degree day for our Outdoor Carnival Party! What a perfect slice of weather.
I’m going to share with you all the juicy details of our Carnival Party this week, but today is all about introductions! So, be my guest on a tour of the most colorful, fun party I have ever thrown! Let’s meet the stars of the party: The Carnival Concessions!
Most important of all, the Carnival Cupcakes! These wonderful confections were so much fun to make. I kept it simple with my mama’s famous chocolate cupcakes topped with a pink and turquoise buttercream frosting swirl. Don’t forget the sprinkles! I spent quite a bit of time making watercolor doodle art for many aspects of this Carnival Party. Check out the cupcake flags I made. They were so cute to put together. I just love how they turned out! Lucky for you I am going to share a printable of them so you can party in style too!
Meet my lil buddies, Jumbo Frosted Animal Cookies! I saw these cookies in Sweetapolita’s Cookbook and absolutely had to include them in the festivities! They were the most buttery, fantastic cookies ever! You bet I’ll be making these again soon!
We had to have something to wet our whistle, and I chose these two delicious lemonades from Natalie’s Juice! They were so refreshing on that warm day! They couldn’t have been cuter! All the little kiddies (and adults) were dying to give them a sip.
If you know me at all, you know I am a HUGE fan of cotton candy! It is the perfect fit for a Carnival Party Concession. I can’t wait for the day I have my own pink cotton candy cart! Until then, thank goodness for Air City Bounce & Party Rental for having my back with a cotton candy machine rental!
Every party needs someone like my hubby running the place! He was essential in pulling together all the crazy party details! He really rocked the cotton candy booth, my hero!
Speaking of my talented husband… He made me three pans of the most glorious gelato for the party! It was a favorite for sure! He made Cherry Chocolate, Mango and Dulce De Leche gelato. Boy did we get spoiled! It was too yummy. Thanks babe!
Gelato, get in my belly!!!
Since we cannot live on sugar alone, we served up some grilled hot dogs! My dad was a champ, and manned the grill to make this goodness happen! Thanks pops! We served some little fruit and veggie cups alongside the hot dogs. They turned out to be so convenient and easy in their single serve cups from Orson Gygi! In fact, I got most of my party supplies there. It is one awesome store if you are looking to throw a party! They make it so easy.
Can’t forget the produce! It’s a family tradition you know…
Whew! That’s a lotta treat lovin’ isn’t it? Soo good. Can ya tell she is all sugared up? Just the way carnival goers are supposed to be. She makes her mama proud!
Let’s take a walk around the event now that we’ve had our fill of goodies, shall we? Yes, there were booths galore, some filled with concessions, and some with games and activities! I loved making these balloon topiaries to mark the different attractions. Darn the crazy wind in the morning that threatened to tear them to pieces! We only lost a few balloons to the elements, but heck! What’s a party without it’s little glitches…
The kid favorite was the Bounce House, Slide and Game from Air City Bounce! They were such an awesome company to work with. I couldn’t believe how fast they had it all set up and ready to party!
Yeah baby! This bounce house really fit the party well. The kids were having so much fun!
I found the most talented local face painter to join in on the fun! Her company is called Face Fun Utah! I was blown away by her skill. She was so sweet to all the kids and made them feel so comfortable. It was definitely one of the most fun parts of the birthday bash!
My lil cutie picked a snow man of all things. Lol. It made me laugh out loud when I saw her. What a goof ball! Her smile just kills me. This party girl sure was a riot to watch.
We put together some fun games for the kids to play. We did a hula hoop contest, donkey races, ball toss, ring toss and a photo booth. We picked out some cute prizes from Zurchers, one of my favorite local party supply stores! They always have ya covered with the goods! I also picked up some darling little circus animal toys to make the party favor!
Later this week I am going to share a tutorial on how I made these little treasure jars filled with salt water taffy! They were the cherry on top of a perfect party!
We have had these “donkeys” for several years now. They were hysterical to watch the kids race on them! You could do this game concept with any blow up ball. It was a fun new take on the original potato sack rack you would normally see at a carnival.
Go baby go! Donkey Racers Extroidinaire!
Hula hoop competitions were so darling to watch! These kids had some serious skills! I picked up the hula hoops from my local dollar store. It was a great (inexpensive) game that everyone loved!
Say cheese! We got silly at the photo booth! I love capturing all their neat personalities while they are goofing around in the photo booth. I found these props at Michaels and painted them to match the party.
Cuteness overload! Please take note of my big pregnant belly…. It may be the only time you are privileged enough to witness it in daylight. Ha ha ha.
The last but not least, attraction at our wild Carnival Party was a Tattly Tattoo Booth! I adore Tattly’s artistic and modern designs for temporary tattoos! Everyone young and old loved this booth!
What time is it? ITS PARTY TIME!!!
Thanks so much for joining me for all the excitement this morning! I have so much more to share with you, but this will have to do for today! Keep your eyes peeled for FREE CARNIVAL PRINTABLES and much, much more! This week is fixing to be a lot of crazy Carnival Party fun!
